Pengenalan Korpus Data Bahasa pada Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia FKIP Universitas Mataram

Abstract

ABSTRAK Berdasarkan hasil penelitian analisis kesalahan berbahasa, kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menerapkan kaidah kebahasaan ketika menulis akademik masih kurang. Ada semacam pola dan jenis kesalahan yang umum dan selalu terjadi ketika mahasiswa menulis skripsi. Oleh karena itu, dalam rangka menghasilkan tulisan ilmiah yang berkualitas dari segi substansi sekaligus tata tulis, penyuluhan bentuk kesalahan berbahasa dalam skripsi perlu dilakukan. Dengan demikian, kesalahan berbahasa skripsi dapat diminimalisasi. Penyuluhan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk ceramah, studi kasus, diskusi kelompok terpumpun, dan demonstrasi. Secara khusus, metode penyuluhan mengadopsi tahapan pembelajan teks dengan sedikit modifikasi. Tahapan yang dimaksud, yakni membangun konteks, memberikan model, menemukan kesalahan, dan mengevaluasi kesalahan. Kegiatan penyuluhan ini berkontribusi pada peningkatan kemampuan peserta dalam melakukan swasunting terhadap tulisan sendiri menjadi lebih baik. Selain itu, para peserta lebih memahami hubungan teori kebahasaan dengan kesalahan berbahasa sehingga memudahkan mereka menganalisis dan mengidentifikasi kesalahan berbahasa. Pada akhirnya, kegiatan penyuluhan ini berkontribusi langsung pada peningkatan kualitas tulisan ilmiah mahasiswa khususnya dari segi tata tulis. Peningkatan kualitas tersebut juga selaras dengan peningkatan kualitas lulusan dan capaian pembelajaran lulusan.   ABSTRACT The main goal of this community service program was to address the existing issue that students face when writing scientific papers, particularly their lack of understanding of language data corpus, which is crucial for their research. The problem stems from the fact that students have limited knowledge about language data corpus, which ideally should have been taught in research methodology classes before they start writing their scientific papers. To overcome this challenge, the community service initiative aimed to introduce language data corpus to students enrolled in the Indonesian Language and Literature Program at the University of Mataram. The objective was to enhance their comprehension of this linguistic resource, specifically targeting final-year students who were working on their scientific theses. The program involved a combination of offline and online activities. Offline sessions were used to deliver both theoretical and practical content, while online components included student registration via WhatsApp groups and Google forms, as well as final evaluations and reflection activities conducted through the same platform. The offline activities employed various methods such as lectures, discussions, and group presentations to facilitate learning. The training was successfully carried out according to the planned schedule, yielding the desired outcomes. The results demonstrated that the participants, or students, were able to understand the conceptual aspects of a corpus, including electronic and non-electronic data corpus, metadata, annotations, and more. They were also able to apply this knowledge by completing assignments, participating in discussions, and delivering presentations. The evaluation results indicated satisfactory performance, and participant reflections showed a positive response to the training.
