Kotaragama Comparativa is committed to supporting academic research and knowledge dissemination. To encourage scholars, researchers, and practitioners to publish their work, this journal currently does NOT charge any fees for the entire publication process.

2. Services Covered by the Journal
Even though Kotaragama Comparativa is free of charge, authors will still receive full professional publication services, including:
  • Peer Review Management: Rigorous single-blind review by at least two expert reviewers.
  • Editorial Assistance: Guidance and feedback from the editorial team throughout the publication process.
  • Copyediting: Language polishing and grammar correction (for both Bahasa Indonesia and English manuscripts).
  • Typesetting and Layout: Professional formatting according to the journal's template.
  • DOI Registration: Each article is assigned a unique DOI (Digital Object Identifier) through Crossref.
  • Online Hosting: Permanent online access to the published article on the journal's website.
  • Indexing Support: Assistance in indexing the article in various databases (Google Scholar, Garuda, Crossref, etc.).
  • Plagiarism Check: Similarity index verification using Turnitin.
3. Why is this Journal Free?

Kotaragama Comparativa is able to offer free publication services because it is fully supported and funded by the Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik, Universitas Mataram. The university covers all operational costs of the journal, including:

  • Website hosting and maintenance
  • Turnitin subscription
  • Crossref DOI registration fees
  • Editorial and reviewer appreciation
  • Technical and administrative support

This institutional support allows us to focus on our mission: promoting high-quality research in comparative criminal law without financial barriers.
4. Future Policy Notice

Please note that the current free publication policy applies to all manuscripts submitted and accepted during this period. Any changes to the fee policy in the future will be:

  • Announced at least 6 months in advance on the journal's website.
  • Applied only to new submissions received after the announcement date.
  • Communicated transparently to all authors and stakeholders.

As of now, there is no plan to introduce any fees in the near future.
Summary: Kotaragama Comparativa is a 100% FREE journal. There are no submission fees, no article processing charges (APC), and no publication fees. All publication services—including peer review, copyediting, typesetting, DOI registration, and online hosting—are fully covered by the journal.
