Therefore, all parties involved in its publication—including editors, reviewers, authors, and publishers—are expected to adhere to the following standards of publication ethics. JSESS follows the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Code of Conduct for Journal Publishers in addressing all aspects of publication ethics, particularly in cases involving research and publication misconduct.

The following section outlines the standards of publication ethics applicable to editors, reviewers, and authors. In addition, the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), University of Mataram, as the publisher of The Journal of Sustainability, Economics, and Social Science (JSESS), supports timely publication and holds no authority to interfere with the integrity of published content.

  • Authors are responsible for ensuring that only original and unpublished work is submitted.

  • Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.

  • Authors must not publish duplicate or redundant manuscripts that describe the same research in multiple journals.

  • Authors should properly acknowledge all data sources and cite publications that have influenced their work.

  • Any suspicion of ethical misconduct, similarity, or duplication between the manuscript under review and other published works known to the reviewer must be reported to the editor immediately.

  • Reviews should be conducted objectively and professionally, with clear and substantiated arguments.

  • Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment.

  • If a reviewer cannot complete the review within the stipulated timeframe, they must promptly inform the editor to facilitate alternative arrangements.
