The Journal of Sustainability, Economics, and Social Science (JSESS) is a multidisciplinary scientific journal that provides a platform for the publication of research exploring the interconnectedness of sustainability, economic systems, and the social sciences. The journal covers topics such as environmental economics and sustainable development, inclusive economic systems, social justice, community engagement, and policy innovation for climate change mitigation. Additionally, JSESS accommodates interdisciplinary case studies, technological contributions, and educational approaches that support the transformation toward sustainable economic practices. Through a rigorous peer-review process, JSESS aims to promote the development of theoretical insights, practical applications, and policy solutions that contribute to sustainable development and global societal well-being.

JSESS is an open-access journal that allows readers to access articles free of charge, while authors are required to pay publication fees. It is published three times a year, in March and September, and accepts manuscripts in both English. All submitted manuscripts undergo strict editorial selection and peer review. Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening will be reviewed by experts in the relevant fields. Articles not accepted will be returned to the authors, and the editorial board reserves the right to edit manuscripts for clarity and alignment with the journal's format and space.

As a peer-reviewed journal, JSESS is committed to upholding high standards of publication ethics and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of its published content. It serves as a platform for researchers, academics, and practitioners to share knowledge and develop innovative solutions in the fields of environmental economics, sustainable development, inclusive economic systems, social equity, community engagement, and climate policy innovation. The review process is conducted using a double-blind method, in which the identities of reviewers are concealed from authors and managed by the editorial board. Reviewers invited by editors are required to adhere to the Ethics for Reviewers. JSESS supports full open access, enabling the public to freely read and download articles, fostering knowledge exchange in service of science and humanity. Copyright for published articles is retained by the authors and protected under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

The journal prioritizes papers in the following areas:

  1. Sustainability and Environmental Economics: Green and circular economy models, sustainable resource management and conservation, environmental impact assessments, and cost-benefit analyses.

  2. Economic Systems and Sustainable Development: Economic growth aligned with sustainability goals, sustainable business practices and corporate social responsibility (CSR), and inclusive economic policies.

  3. Social Science Perspectives on Sustainability: Social equity and justice, community engagement and participatory approaches, cultural and behavioral dimensions of sustainability.

  4. Policy and Governance for Sustainability: Urban and rural sustainable development, governance and institutional frameworks, policy innovation for climate change mitigation and adaptation.

  5. Interdisciplinary Research and Case Studies: Integration of economic, social, and environmental dimensions, frameworks for sustainability science, and case studies of successful sustainability initiatives.

  6. Technological and Educational Contributions: Role of technology in sustainability, education and awareness strategies, and digital transformation in sustainable economic practices.

In line with its multidisciplinary orientation, JSESS does not accept manuscripts authored by a single author. Furthermore, manuscripts that solely focus on method optimization or confirmation, or that replicate previous studies using different objects, will not be considered, as they fall outside the journal's scope.
