Abstract

The innovation activity of tuna fish sempol products by the people of Meninting Village, Batu Layar District, West Lombok Regency, is part of the KKN-KKB program which aims to explore the potential of fish resources that have the opportunity to be developed as a competitive and profitable fishery business in improving the economy and nutritional quality of food. The business of processing captured fisheries products through innovative processed tuna fish products not only increases benefits and added value, but also supports community interest in the fish eating movement. The method used is a qualitative method through observation, participation during training, and documentation. The results of the activity show that the KKN-KKB program through direct counseling and training is able to develop innovations in contemporary processed fish products such as fish sempol quite successfully because it increases community knowledge, understanding, and skills and encourages interest in eating fish. In addition, this activity is also in line with the objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 2 (Eradicating Hunger) through improving nutrition, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through developing local resource-based businesses, and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) through optimal and sustainable utilization of fishery products.
