The Nutrient Flow Rate in The NFT Hydroponic System With Variations in The Gutter Slope
Keywords:
gutter slope; lettuce; nutrient flow rateAbstract
One of the most popular hydroponic systems is Nutrient Film Technique (NFT). This system allows planting plants without using soil media. The aim of this study is to know the effect of talang tilt variations on the speed of nutrient flow in the NFT hydroponic system and to know the impact of talang tilt variations on the growth and yield of lettuce plants in the NFT hydroponic system. The research method used is an experimental method by comparing various variations in the slope of the chamfer in the NFT hydroponic system, with the pipe tilt factor (T) ie T1=0.85%, T2=1.28%, T3=1.71%. The parameters measured are nutrient flow velocity, plant growth, plant wet weight, growth index. The results of the study, namely variations in the slope of the gutter in the NFT hydroponic system, affect the speed of nutrient flow and growth of lettuce plants. A slope of 1.71% produces the best plant height, wet weight and growth efficiency with the highest growth index. Overall, steeper slopes increase plant height growth, wet weight, and growth index.
