Analysis of Liquid Smoke Production From Corn Stem Agricultural Waste Using Pyrolyzer
Keywords:
corn stalk; liquid smok; pyrolyzerAbstract
The pyrolysis process can convert agricultural waste into materials that have a selling value with better conversion. One of the results of this pyrolysis process is liquid smoke, which is the result of condensation of combustion vapor. Liquid smoke from corn stalks contains organic compounds that can inhibit the growth of Colletorichum sp fungi which can cause anthracnose disease if grown on red chili plants. The purpose of this study was to analyze the production of liquid smoke and determine the performance of the liquid smoke pyrolyzer and the yield of liquid smoke production produced from corn stalk waste. The research method used is the experimental method. In this study, the pyrolysis process was carried out for 6 hours using a fire furnace and the weight of corn stalk waste raw material was 15 kg. The volume of liquid smoke produced was 0.4 L with the highest temperature obtained at 370˚C. The performance of the corn stalk waste-based liquid smoke production tool obtained through calculations was 0.056 kg / hour. The yield of liquid smoke production produced was 2.44%.
