Water is an absolute necessity for the survival of life because, without water, there would be no life in this world. One effort that must be made to meet water needs, especially in locations higher than the water source, is to use a water pump. So, an innovation was created that does not use fuel, namely the gravity pump. This research aims to determine the working mechanism of the suction system gravity pump and the volume of water produced by the gravity pump. This research method uses experiments. In this research, the tool’s design and testing are applied in the field from volume data obtained from testing using time, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 minutes. The parameters observed in this research are the functional and structural design and volume of water produced by the gravity pump. The research results showed that the volume of water produced by the pump per repetition for 1 hour was 191.48 liters, 196.96 liters and 194.72 liters. The average volume of water produced by an ¾ inch suction pipe is 194.38 liters. Based on these results, the largest total volume was produced in repetition 2, with 196.96 liters of water for 1 hour (60 minutes). Meanwhile, the average volume of water obtained during 1 hour (60 minutes) was 194.38 liters. It can be concluded that this gravity pump can work well.
