Corn is one of the agricultural products that meets the needs of the food and animal feed industries. The main problem faced by farmers is at harvest time, where corn has a high enough moisture content so that it is easy for deer. Post-harvest handling by drying the sangan is necessary with the use of drying aids such as vertical dryers will make the drying process easier. Vertical type drying with a heat source generated from the combustion of pecan shell biomass whose heat is easy to control. The method used is an experiment conducted directly at the research site with two treatments, continue and discontinue, data collection is carried out every 15 minutes with a mass of corn of 50 kg until the moisture content reaches 14% with a temperature of 55°C. The parameters measured, i.e. the heat energy enters the drying chamber, the heat energy is lost through the walls, and the heat energy is used to dry the material. The test results show that the amount of heat energy entering the drying room in the continue and discontinue treatment is 3.62 Watts and 3.79 Watts, while the amount of heat energy lost through the wall is 0.297 Watts and 0.987 Watts, the amount of heat energy used to heat the air with an air speed of 9.217m/s is 2.75 Watts and 2.78 Watts and the initial moisture content in the material is 20% after drying by treatment Continue and Discontinue reached 14% of the drying time in the 7 hours and 45 minutes Continue treatment, the initial weight of corn was 50 kg to 46 kg, while in the discontinue treatment of 8 hours and 15 minutes of drying, the initial weight of corn was 50 kg to 46 kg.
