Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country, which is rich in agricultural products. One of them is grain, even Indonesia ranks third with a total production of 70.8 million tons / year. Therefore, agricultural tools and machinery are an important utilization in the agricultural sector in particular in drying grain or other grains. Fluidized drying equipment is an important alternative to encourage modern agriculture in maintaining the quality of agricultural products. This study aims to determine the quality produced by the fluidized dryer and how long it takes for the fluidized dryer to reach 12-14% moisture content. This research uses an experimental method involving 3 types of measuring instruments, namely thermocouple type k, moisturemeter, and anemometer. Tests were conducted under free temperature conditions and not based on sunlight or high temperatures. The test results show that high temperatures require less time than lower temperatures. The higher the temperature and mass of material used, the faster the process of reducing water content. And vice versa. The fastest drying occurs at a temperature treatment of 60 ℃ with a mass of 3 kg of material and the longest drying at a temperature treatment of 40 ℃ with a mass of 5 kg of material.
