Abstract

Cow dung and organic waste are pollutants that will damage the environment, so they must be utilized as a renewable energy source. One of the technologies that can manage waste and waste into energy is biodigester.  This study aims to determine the results of biogas from cow dung and organic waste and the character and energy produced. The method used is experimental with direct measurement in the field. The parameters measured include digester temperature, CO2, CH4, pressure, flame, and fire color. Data analysis was conducted using mathematical and multicriteria methods. Two treatments were used cow dung mixed with water, and organic waste mixed with water. The results showed that cow dung produced the highest reactor temperature of 35.9°C and the maximum methane of 10,000 moles. The lowest CO2 in cow dung was 996 ppm, with a pressure of 0.08 atm. The flame appeared with a dominant blue color. Organic waste produced the highest reactor temperature of 34.3°C and a stable methane of 10,000 moles. The lowest CO2 was 1014 ppm with a pressure of 0.06 atm. The flame appeared with a dominant blue color. Cow dung is slightly faster and more efficient at producing biogas from waste.
