The Effectiveness of the Work Accident Insurance and Old-Age Security Programs in Increasing Worker Productivity

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation and effectiveness of the work accident insurance and old-age security programs in increasing worker productivity at PT. PELNI (Persero) Bima Branch. The types of data used include primary and secondary data, consisting of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. The data sources are obtained from field research and literature study. Data collection techniques involved interviews with respondents and informants, as well as library research. The implementation of the work accident insurance and old-age security programs at PT. PELNI (Persero) Bima Branch has been carried out in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations and has been implemented properly. All 17 workers, consisting of both contract and permanent employees, have been registered in the two BPJS Employment programs: work accident insurance and old-age security. The company, together with the local BPJS Employment office, also conducts outreach activities related to the procedures and benefits of claims. So far, there have been no obstacles in claiming benefits, and the process has been prompt. It can be concluded that the work accident insurance and old-age security programs at PT. PELNI (Persero) Bima Branch have been effective in improving worker productivity. This effectiveness is reflected in the fulfillment of workers' rights under both programs in accordance with prevailing regulations. The existence of these programs has motivated employees to enhance their performance at work, which directly impacts their productivity.
