Seaweed can be used as a feed additive because it contains nutrients such as protein, carbohydrates, fats, and minerals. One type of seaweed that can be used as a feed additive is Kappaphycus alvarezii. The step to maximize the nutritional content of seaweed flour is through fermentation. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the long fermentation time of bioflocculants on Kappaphycus alvarezii as an additive in feed for the growth and efficiency of goldfish feed utilization. This study used a Complete Random Design method with three treatments and four replicates, namely P0 (Fermentation 144 hours (6 days)), P1 (Fermentation 192 hours (8 days)) and P2 (Fermentation 240 hours (10 days)). The results showed that P2 treatment had a real effect on absolute weight, absolute length, specific growth rate, feed utilization efficiency (EPP), feed conversion ratio (FCR), but had no effect on the survival rate of goldfish. The best treatment in this study refers to the absolute length value, feed conversion ratio, and feed utilization efficiency, namely P2 treatment. Meanwhile, referring to the absolute weight value and specific growth rate, the P2 and P1 treatments were better than the P0 treatments.
2024-06-28T08:29:54+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Fish Nutrition https://journal.unram.ac.id/index.php/jfn/article/view/4620 EVALUASI PENGGUNAAN LARVA BLACK SOLDIER FLY (BSF) SEBAGAI SUMBER PROTEIN HEWANI DALAM PAKAN IKAN 2024-06-29T06:36:45+00:00 Yuli Andriani yuli.andriani@unpad.ac.id Rusky Intan Pratama yuli.andriani@unpad.ac.id
Abundant organic waste has the potential to pollute the environment, so proper management is needed so that organic waste can become an economically valuable material. Bioconversion by maggot Hermetia illucens (Black Soldier Fly) is one of the effective methods to process organic waste into animal protein sources that can be used as fish and livestock feed. BSF maggot is able to reduce organic waste up to 78.9% per day and has a protein content of 30-45% and fat 24-30%. The maggot life cycle involves several phases from egg to adult, with temperature playing an important role in this process. Maggot also shows great potential in improving fish growth and health, and can be used as an efficient and highly nutritious alternative feed ingredient.
2024-06-29T06:31:06+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Fish Nutrition https://journal.unram.ac.id/index.php/jfn/article/view/4621 PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN TEPUNG MAGGOT (Hermetia illucens) DALAM FORMULASI PAKAN IKAN BAWAL (Colossoma macropomum) AIR TAWAR 2024-06-30T14:46:56+00:00 Arifana Murad arifanaarifana78@gmail.com Salnida Yuniarti Lumbessy arifanaarifana78@gmail.com Dewi Putri Lestari dewiputrilestari1@gmail.ac.id
2024-06-30T14:43:41+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Fish Nutrition https://journal.unram.ac.id/index.php/jfn/article/view/3021 PENAMBAHAN TEPUNG GURITA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN IKAN LELE (Clarias sp.) 2024-07-01T07:55:15+00:00 Nurifansyah Nurifansyah fansyahnuri857@gmail.com Muhammad Marzuki fansyahnuri857@gmail.com Nanda Diniarti fansyahnuri857@gmail.com
Catfish is a freshwater commodity often found in traditional and modern markets. Cultivation is also carried out in almost all regions, but the obstacle is feed availability. Therefore, we are looking for feed ingredients that are widely available and capable of increasing catfish growth quickly. Octopus is a fishery commodity abundant in certain seasons and requires processing so that it is not wasted. Octopus can be made into meal and used as raw material for catfish feed. The research aimed to analyze the effect of adding octopus meal to commercial feed for the growth of catfish (Clarias sp.). This research used an experimental method with 4 treatments (P1: 100% pellets, 0% octopus (without addition), P2: 98% pellets, 2% octopus meal, P3: 96% pellets, 4% octopus meal, P4: 94% pellets, 6% octopus meal) and 3 repetitions. The results showed that the addition of octopus meal increased the growth of catfish with the best treatment, namely the P4 treatment. Adding octopus meal to commercial feed gave significant results on absolute weight growth, specific weight growth, absolute length growth, specific length growth, feed conversion ratio, and feed efficiency level but did not affect the survival rate of catfish.
2024-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Fish Nutrition
