Abstract

This study aims to determine the perception of farmers towards IB-produced calves in Labuhan Haji District, East Lombok Regency. The study was conducted by descriptive method. The research material was taken from 6 villages in Labuhan Haji District with a total sample of 81 heads. Data collection was conducted by survey and intervews, the observed include calf productivity is good and fast growth, high selling prices, and farmer preferens. The data obtained were analyzed using simple statistics including averages and percentages, the result presented descriptively. The result showed the factor that influence the perceptin of farmer in labuhan haji sub-district in term of good and fast big limbal (41%), in term of the selling prince of the simbal cattle (63%), and in terms of farmers preferred namely bali cattle (44%). While the calves that are most preferred by farmers are simbal cows (35%), calves that are less preferred are angbal cows (49%), the most preferred type of calf is female calves (43%), and the most preferred color of calf fur is brownish red of brick red (80%).
